This design was created for a wooded site situated along a gentle slope that meets a flowing stream at its bottom. At the center of the house is a monolithic concrete fireplace that touches all spaces. It provides a place for gathering. It also acts a structural support, and distributes radiant heat to all the floors.

A cantilever stair leads down to living space and up to bedroom space within a slim 3 story space. During warm weather this 3 story space allows air to naturally move through the house from low to high, providing natural ventilation.
Client was a couple who needed a small office, a large space to host gatherings, guest suite, and open spaces. The view towards the stream was very important, along with a outdoor space.
