Blue Sky Hospitality | SAHIL
SAHIL is a glamorous bar & restaurant spread over 700 M2 on the first floor of the Sahil building, right in the centre of Baku’s seaside promenade. The brand identity and interiors are the creation of famed restaurant designer Henry Chebaane, who has taken inspiration from the coastline of Baku and the surrounding Caspian region, expressed in a refined, layered cosmopolitan style blending rich materials and contemporary aesthetics that would not look out of place in New York or Paris.
Sahil means ‘coast’ or ‘seashore’ in the local language and is also the historical name of this part of the capital city of Baku. With SAHIL, the design team has imagined and delivered the first restaurant and bar of this kind in the world: a contemporary upscale brasserie with a sophisticated Azerbaijani identity.
Henry Chebaane has created a sophisticated and relaxing space using a colour palette of cool blue and soft silver leathers, in rich textures of sturgeon, perch and caviar. The warm, elegant space is surrounded by deep ebony macassar, limed oak flooring, 3D teal and taupe carpet and iridescent pearl mosaics, all combined to create a refined atmosphere of comfortable luxury.
A wine cellar stocked with the finest international vintages, a frozen vodka collection and a chic cocktail bar service a wonderfully elegant lounge, a private dining room and two outside terraces overlooking the Caspian sea.
Driftwood, seabird sculptures, vintage whale vertebra and sawfish rostrum are some of the unique art pieces to be showcased in this cool, modern loft ambiance which has possibly become the number one representative of modern Caspian dining in the World. The local elite, visiting business people and state dignitaries have all quickly made Sahil one of their preferred dining choice in town, making the booking lines always busy, sometimes frustratingly so.
