Hassell | Radisson Hotel at Century Park
HASSELL undertook the interior design and landscape architecture for the Radisson Hotel setting a new benchmark in Shanghai’s hotel offerings. Whilst the 362 room hotel is predominately aimed at the business traveller, the client’s passion for contemporary art has ensured that the design solution is anything but conventional.
HASSELL took the Radisson project as an opportunity to explore traditional Chinese design elements and craftsmanship reworked in a modern environment, so that both visitors and locals may start to experience Chinese culture and design on a different level.
The design concept was driven by the integration of art as functional elements which inject colour and interest in an often unexpected manner, while still ensuring guest comfort and practicality. The artwork is unified with the design to create elements of intrigue and surprise.
