OpenAD | Club – restaurant D-Style
The project is made to unite both unctions- day [restaurant] and night [club]. The owner is yaoun latvian singer and dj. Good planning ir important thing to make functional party place. Entering club you come down in hall-1 in which there is a radio studio made rom glass walls. In this studio people are interviewed and there are radio translations. During datyime the studio is seperated with curtain and there is ofiice for owner. In the room is excentric couch for interviews and a radio-control counter.
In the opposite side of entrance is the pannel wall which is made from second hand materials- many different carpenters wastage. There is made a special „ladies space”- place to refresh make up and hav a small chat, but it is in a different place from toilets, so im toilets there are not big rows. Near entrance and radio studio there are tables with comfortable metal chairs, made in Latvia.
The main character is Mr.D, who is coming from Dionysus, who was the god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, of ritual madness and ecstasy in Greek mythology. He is exponed as a sculpture, which is hanging in ceiling and welcomes his guests from the top.
In the back part of restaurant there are toilets, which are made as objects, not just a simple toilets. To make the standing in the rows more interesting with possibility to continue chatting, there ar 4 different „eggs” an there are no demarcations from the other rooms, and the washbins are also exponed ouside from toilets.
In this project we tried to use simple materials, wastes from carpenters and constructors, so giving these materials a possibility for seconf life, and also it is about not wasting materials- about ecology. All the furiture, except chairs, are made in Latvia by sketches of architect Zane Tetere.
