OUVI & A-ASTERISK | S-house
A couple of around 70 years old is the client in this project. They had lived with the working place and the daily space at downtown area.In this case, they closed a job and wanted to the last house. In existing space, their space is very compactly , but the living space was for the husband, the dining and kitchen space was for the wife. This mean, they used the small space for each other.
It is the good lifestyle that it is used, and the place comfortable each other are important for them .In other words, This is the important thing as reorganizing the existing plane of the square. It is not to change their physical vector from east to west .Then we can dismantle two small spaces. On the other hand, there is a column with an angle of 45 degrees in the center of the plan.
This column has an important role as a device in this space. The column projects two rooms like a mirror and reverse a ceiling and a floor , at the same time it connects two space that dismantled. There is the scene that is projected by being conscious of this column. It projects a familiar house as an appearance of an unknown new house.Location: Tokyo, Japan Architect: OUVI and A-ASTERISK Design: Shin Yokoo/OUVI + Nobuhiro Nakamura/A*
