This project is a small green house of 100 sqm, built only with the needed space in an land of 1.830 sqm. This house is aware of its natural environment and blends into the garden through its green cover.
In the conceptualization of this project, we discussed about the controversy of architects wanted to be seen in every project. So at last whe designed a small natural inmerse hidded by it surrounded environment house.
The house is located in the rear of the parcel for privacy purposes, located in an area where there were no trees, this makes an pleasant trip walking in and out every day.
We design it size just as needed space, with an interior living area of 70 sqm, 20 sqm for storage purpose and 10 sqm for terrace.
The house was located on the corner of the land to enjoy from one single spot all the garden view with a minimal natural topography alteration.
The house is designed with ecological and bioclimatic criteria, preserving all existing trees on the ground, while replacing the built-up area by grass through the green roof garden.
Existing Plant Conservation:
In conceptualizing the project we decided to leave in the ground all important trees and shrubs as well as existing natural topography, trying to have the least impact to the environment. This gives the exteior space a totally natural appearance without any artificial modification.
The Roof is almost completely covered with vegetation with waterproofing membrane. The extensive green roof covered in a light layer of vegetation of grass, provides insulation, and help to lower urban air temperatures and combat the heat island effect. It reduces heating adding mass and thermal resistance value.
Solar Pasive Design:
We use the shade of the trees to prevent solar radiation from the west, just as the space contained naturally isolated by the roof garden, cooling the house without the use of air conditioning in a very hot weather.
Opposite Windows are designed oriented to the prevailing winds to cool the space naturally.
Evaporative Natural Cooling:
The use of Evaporative cooling technique to improve the conditions of the wind that enters the house through natural ventilation. The top center window faces the roof garden, causing the air to be cooled before entering, skimming the wet grass surface.
The design reduces energy consumption through its isolation by natural cover, natural ventilation, lighting and low power equipment.
The waste is treated by a septic tank and ecologically clean the water at 90%, then is reused in the garden by irrigation as a surface canal system.
Irrigation Water Recycling:
The garden is irrigated with underground water recycling.
Loft Open Space:
The interior is completely wide open loft type, designed to take advantage of all the space in the various activities of the day, allowing always be open to the view of the garden.
The house have it’s own compost for organic kitchen waste, dry leafs, grass cutting litter to get black dirt for gardening.
