OPPENHEIM Architecture + Design, a global architecture, interior design and planning firm, announced that Chad Oppenheim, principal and lead designer, has been elevated to the prestigious College of Fellows of The American Institute of Architects (AIA).
The fellowship program was developed to elevate architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Election to fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of architects as individuals, but also their contribution to architecture and society on a national level.
A graduate of Cornell University, Oppenheim has been a practicing architect for more than 15 years. He founded Oppenheim Architecture + Design in 1999, and has garnered global recognition for socially and environmentally conscious architecture, as well as setting trends in the sustainable and humanitarian sectors.
Oppenheim is known for creating refreshingly bold, contextually sensitive and beloved designs made to inspire beautiful moments. Project highlights include Ten Museum Park in Miami; Net Metropolis, the nation’s first certified green project in Manila, Philippines; and filmmaker Michael Bay’s new 30,000-square-foot Los Angeles home, among many others. He also teaches at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Oppenheim will be honored at an investiture ceremony at the AIA Convention 2015 in Atlanta.
