Avenue Road, Canada’s premier venue for exclusive home furnishings, celebrates the opening this week of its dramatic new showroom in Toronto’s vibrant Leslieville district. Designed by acclaimed interior design firm Yabu Pushelberg, the showroom at 415 Eastern Avenue encompasses nearly 15,000 square feet over three levels in the former Consumers Gas Co. Building. Providing five times the display space of the company’s current location, the gallery-like new showroom incorporates dramatic contemporary features while maintaining the historic integrity of the this landmark building.
Since 2007, AVENUE ROAD has introduced a distinctive range of classic and contemporary furniture from around the world to Canada. Its expansive new location affords the opportunity to showcase new collections never before seen in this country. Among the lines with new designated showroom areas are England’s The Rug Company (offering luxurious hand-knotted rugs by such leading designers as Tom Dixon, Paul Smith and Matthew Williamson), Dutch-based Van Rossum and the modern furniture classics of New York-based design legend Vladimir Kagan.
A permanent showroom presence will also be granted to the timeless designs of Swiss-based USM Modular Furniture, (add also devoted Christophe Delcourt exhibit and Brazilian exhibit while other striking new collections will be introduced this fall.
The company will also continue to offer its own enticing line of furniture and accents under the AVENUE ROAD editions label featuring designs from Yabu Pushelberg, Jacques Guillon, Christophe Delcourt and Simone Coste.
