The restaurant ‘Rechtvaardige Rechters’ in Ghent was in need of a full renovation. The original line-up of the tables was disorderly and the seats appeared quite heavily-built. The color palette didn’t match and the illumination was not balanced. It was time for a few interventions.
First of all JUMA wants to bring structure to design by a long leather sofa were all tables can be arranged. The sofa was conducted in a warm cognac color and invites to have a great dinner.
The wooden table tops provide a natural accent that contrasted with the sophisticated design of the typical black Thonet chair.
To emphasize the young character of the restaurant the grafic designer Valentine De Cort was asked to draw a large wall drawing of the playful life under the ever-imposing Cathedral.
What concerns the lightning JUMA has chosen for a mix of different types of light fixtures which contribute to a cosy atmosphere.
Especially the large copper spherical pendant lamp attracts attention while the white tight fixtures on the ceiling, with their directional spot lights remain discreet.
Furthermore, some walls got a soft, shiny fabric. The natural stone used for the existing bar is the eye catcher of the restaurant. And the veined, polished stone gives the restaurant the necessary allure it deserves.
