London-based designer Kenyon Yeh’s latest project is this ‘Swan’ vase. Created by making a mold from a salvaged chair leg, then poured in coloured resin. Itʼs slender, curving shape looks just like the neck of a swan. Of course, the surprising fact about the Swan Vase is that is wasnʼt created based off of a real swanʼs neck, nor was it fashioned simply from the memory of what a swan looks like.
The minimal curves and clean lines of the chair leg intended as a vase, once cast in resin, seem to have transformed into an abstract fluid form – which makes a rather elegant ornament indeed. Finished off with a gilt 23K gold edge around the rim and a rectangle stand, the makeover’s complete.Design: Kenyon Yeh Design Studio
