This project was made for 50 years old woman who wanted to create a place for rehabilitation of her 70 years old mother.

13_MANUA_pool_Ondrej PelikanThe pool is located in the small backyard behind an apartment building in Prague, Czech Republic. The courtyard is surrounded by walls owned by various owners so we were supposed to be considerate towards them.

05_MANUA_pool_Ondrej PelikanThe only possible solution was to use a waterproof concrete structure without need of any additional waterproof insulation. To keep privacy for the users we needed to deal with many windows leading to the backyard. This condition led us to the form of the extension. Our goal was to create an atmosphere similar to an intimate cave. We focused on the contrast of sleek and glossy materials and a rough concrete.
