New Odeon cinema opened in Saint Germain des Prés  in Paris.

Producer and distributor since 1992 (Palme d’Or in 2008 with the film “Entre les murs” of Laurent Cantet), Haut et Court creates a new site devoted to cinema. The New Odeon opened on 17 November 2008 with the film “Mother and Child” – Rodrigo Garcia, Naomi Watts and Annette Bening, which  won the Grand Prix at Festival of Deauville.

Located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, the cinema NEW ODEON – ODEON formerly RACINE – was acquired by Haut et Court in March 2009. Desiring to make a transformation of space and propose a new way of experiencing the film, Carole Scotta Bidou and Martin have undertaken renovations with support from the City of Paris, the CNC, and the Region Ile de France. They chose Matali Crasset as the designer of this project for her work on hospitality, modularity and ownership.

To the left of the entrance is the access to the cinema and at the right side, the tasting area. Around these places there are organized meetings before and after the film projection. The film is a single-room. This room is designed for live theater and live together.

The home is the core of space and it fits into a metal structure in which almost rhizomatic functions movies seem articulate, combined like a puzzle in volume whose elements are the roots.

The New  Odeon is now equipped with better technology and its image (2K projector and 3D), while maintaining the ability to show movies in 35mm. The sound is digital and the room offers a beautiful display of basic 7m40 3m high.

The seats are numbered in the theater. Also, the theatre has an online booking system for people choosing their location and print their tickets at home.

A time saver that will allow spectators to arrive at the last moment or have a snack at a small bar before the meeting, which contains a selection of the day consisted of pies, salads and organic glasses.

Finally, the New Odeon is accessible walk-in from the street and equipped with an elevator leading to the tasting area and it thus became one of the few cinemas in the Latin Quarter accessible to disabled people..
