Combining innovative materials in an exclusive way – Making concrete respectable
Contemporary furniture does not depend on traditional materials anymore. Besides wood, steel and plastics, new materials are emerging that have merely ever been used for our living environment. Now, an innovative composite of carbon and concrete offers new possibilities for furniture design.
Lounge Chair »Spurt«
»Spurt« is made of one piece out of carbon-textile reinforced concrete. Inspired by the silhouette of a sprinter just about to start the race, the lounge chair combines strength and vitality.
With its ergonomically shaped form, »Spurt« offers comfort, that goes far beyond common concrete or stone furniture. Due to the complexity of its shape the chair is handmade.
»Spurt« is available as an indoor as well as an outdoor model.
Table Board »Flunder«
PAULSBERG »Flunder« – smart table boards and desk tops, sharing a striking flatness with their maritime namesake. The outstanding feature being a edge thickness of only 8 millimeters (25 millimeters in the center), they are available in three standard sizes, ranging from a single-desk to a classic meeting table.
The table boards are appropriate for indoor and outdoor use and are available in the colors concrete gray or mouse gray.
Coffee Table »Fruits«
Opposites attract! Making use of this, the Coffee Table »Fruits« combines the different features of concrete and wood, creating a new quality of design. Only 6 millimeters thick, smoothly curved and complemented by a solid wood board, the table reveals the aesthetic value of the novel carbon-concrete-composite. The fruitbowl – aesthetic highlight with statical function.
As a Coffee Table, »Fruits« can be combined with furniture made of classic materials such as leather, wood or metal. The table is available in the colors concrete gray or mouse gray.
Combining new haptic quality with familiar functionality. Inspired by the big sea birds wingspan, the design of »albatros« is powerful and dynamic, yet delicate and ergonomically shaped.
Showing the possibilities of the carbon-concrete-composite, the couch spans 3 meters with a material thickness of only 1 centimeter.
»Albatros« is made for indoor use.
PAULSBERG stands for products made of extraordinary material combinations. These works deploy materiality and shape in order to effect the viewer/user emotionally. The Dresden-based design studio creates, develops and builds furniture for indoor and outdoor use.
The first collection »Concrete is alive!« focuses on exploring the possibilities of concrete.
