Objects Peleg Design | Reflective vase

Peleg Design | Reflective vaseAs a child I was always drawn to nature. Watching the reflection of mountings and clouds in lakes at family trips was one of my great pleasures. The inspiration for the reflective vase came from that memory. I wanted to design a vase that will reflect its surroundings as the lakes reflected those mountings, so I started to play with mirrors and discovered the illusion of bending images on to cylindrical objects from there it was a short jump to the pastoral Dutch country scene.

Peleg Design | Reflective vaseThe choice of using a Delftware pattern on the tablecloth came from my love for Delftware I wanted to take a century old craft and update it.  The vase itself has a mirror like coating that allows the surroundings to reflect in it. By putting the vase on the tablecloth you reveal a surprising effect of a nature scene on the vase.
