Architecture Popo Danes Architect | Villa Bayad

Popo Danes Architect | Villa BayadThe strong point of Bayad Villa lies in the humbleness of the architecture’s design. The villa bows down to nature by appearing here and there among the lush greenery of the landscape. The Openness of the buildings creates a kind of dialogue with the land surrounding it. Bayad is one of the most beautiful projects designed by Popo Danes.

The owner of the villa, initially brought an architect from their country, Denmark. When the Danish architect met some difficulties in adapting his design with Bali’s Tropical climate, Popo Danes was asked to give some advise. At the end, Popo was assigned to continue this project. The villa stands at the top of a terraced rice fields in the verdant, tranquil and calm Banjar Bayad, Payangan, Ubud-Bali. The villa faces east towards the two terraces of rice fields with a river running between them.

On the almost 7500 sqm site, 6 buildings with 4 bedrooms are built in two opposite clusters. On one side are the two main cottages reserved for the owners of the resort, and on the other are two cottages to be rented. The rest of the buildings are used as common rooms. All buildings were built in such a way to intrude the natural surrounding as minimum as possible.
