Hydro lamps


My new lamp collection was inspired by the extraordinary variety of deep-sea animals. I transformed various forms of cuttlefishes, medusas and polyps to wooden pendant lamp forms.  The idea came from the fact that some of these animals emit light.     Designer: Laszlo Tompa Project name: Hydro lamps

I made these similarly to my “Cube illusion” but the lathed elements were built upon five- and six-angled pyramids open at the bottom, thereby producing lampshades emitting light downwards. Designer:  Laszlo Tompa   Dimensions: 30x30x32 cm, material: cherry wood

Spiral box


A spiral-shaped wooden box containing a drawer. At first sight, it seems impossible to pull out the drawer from the box; however, the spiral shape enables to rotate it fully onto the top of the box. Designer: Laszlo Tompa Dimensions: 22x22x13 cm, material: cherry wood

Cube illusion


A wooden storage box with a cover. A cube is seamlessly covered with three different bodies of revolution that engage in each other, thereby producing a powerful, geometrical design sculpture.
