The Tattoo hanging lamp draws on the tradition of murrhine glass. The secret behind the production of this type of glass has been preserved and handed down over the years by the master glass-makers of Murano.

Based on the old technique, the glass is produced in thin rods from which elements in various forms are obtained and then inserted, using the incalmo technique, into the glass in a pre-established design. In the design of the Tattoo lamp, La Murrina uses tessera elements – a more stylised version of murrhines – which give the lamp an original, more contemporary look.
