Beal | Derkenne Construction to begin work on historic preservation project – Historic Des Moines Firehouse to become neighborhood hub Work has commenced on the 37,400SF, historic Fire Station #1 in Des Moines, IA, which will be transformed, over the next 6 months, into the Des Moines Social Club.
BEAL | DERKENNE Construction will give the 1938 structure a new life while preserving its historic nature. When finalized in January 2014, the building will house a mix of retail outlets, a theatre, restaurant spaces, offices, classrooms and the permanent home of the Des Moines Social Club.
