Office building for the social services (OCMW) of the town of Ternat, built according to the passive house principal.
The building is situated in the back garden of a listed building of historic interest. The skin of the new office building is about the integration into the walled garden and the preservation of privacy as well of its clients as of the neighbouring gardens.
S-W façade covered with different shades of mirrored glazed panels, which are also used on the sliding parts of the sunscreens. On the first floor, the patio behind the perforated white steel panels and the half-transparent glazing brings in the necessary natural light while preserving the privacy of the neighbouring gardens.(Photographer: Liesbet Goetschalckx)
