Norman Foster In the 21st Century
Over the course of more than fifty years, the prolific oeuvre of Norman Foster has earned worldwide renown for its innovative approach and environmental commitment. The third AV monograph devoted to the British architect —after issues 38 and 78— gathers fifty works and projects developed in the 21st century, and is the longest AV issue published to date.
Produced in close collaboration with the architect, the monograph begins with an extensive essay in which Norman Foster takes stock of this influences, and continues with an article by Luis Fernández-Galiano. Structured in eight thematic groups, the index list includes noteworthy works like the Trafalgar Square Redevelopment in London, the Free University Library in Berlin, Hearst Tower in New York, the Beijing International Airport or Spaceport America in New Mexico, as well as recent projects like Châteaux Margaux in Bordeaux, the new Apple Campus in Cupertino or the recent studies for the construction of lunar settlements.
